Literally, the Kelly Board is working! One of the most challenging aspects of the new Kelly premises is the soaring height. 1) Find a ladder to borrow, 2) Find a truck and driver to go get the ladder, 3/4) Get at least 2 people to get the ladder in the truck and back out of the truck 5) Drag the ladder inside and set it up--preferably without breaking the antique chandelier! THEN consider who gets to climb up and place the pictures.

President Belyn Richardson and several other Board Directors are busy writing several grant requests, helped tremendously by Fund-Raising Chair Phyllis Kennedy. A couple of the requests include money for an intern to help with reports and exhibits, and a possible mural painting and other mini-murals for Wetumpka--more exciting information to come if these are granted. Other grants relate to the possibilities of improving the space--so much can be done!
VP Linda Lewis has ramped up our publicity and had our logos all revamped. You've probably seen the new Kelly Calendar she's been sending out. Kathy Willis continues to work on increasing our membership and get the dues in to Barbara Bennett, who watches the dollars in our regular and special scholarship accounts and provides information needed for the grants. To help her and everyone else, the Board has purchased Bloomerang, new software for tracking information on membership and donations, which should help streamline operations.
Everyone pitches in and wears multiple hats--helping with moving, exhibits, and whatever else is needed. Charlotte Whetstone is already gearing up for a huge Mardi--make that ARTI Gras Gala next year. Libby Christensen is pushing to get some demos and workshops set up, and both she and member Erin Rogers are helping Carol Hickman with the current Treasure Hunt on line. Every Board meeting brings new ideas and new excitement!
