The Kelly received a nice grant from the Central Alabama Community Foundation. Thanks to Mit Fontaine who wrote up the grant request and has followed up with the selection and buying, we will soon have some new furnishings. The priority, though, according to President Belyn Richardson, was a loudspeaker: "We absolutely had to have a PA system, including some outdoor speakers."
Since the City of Wetumpka has added some beautiful landscaping in front of The Kelly building, it was natural on the fine evening of the Opening Reception to place some tables outside. Clearly, the guests enjoyed the air, and the outdoor speakers are a MUST!
Now we will have speakers, tables and chairs, as well as a microphone, for receptions and meetings. Tuesday With Kelly chair Marilee Tankersley is eager to begin having the TWK meet IN our OWN space and has been pushing to have the chairs (and tables to hold our lunches). We hope to begin the monthly meetings very soon.
