Displays on the Docket

thekelly36094

With a new Kelly home now available, the new Curator of The Kelly, Carol Hickman, is already planning a program of displays, both in The Kelly and in the community.

One of the first major exhibits will be in conjunction with Jasmine Hill Gardens' Spring Festival. That will be the on-ground version of the on-line Treasure Hunt, for which The Kelly collected 130 entries from a variety of artists in many different genres--painting, pastels, drawing and fiber art.

"Other exhibits we'd like to do this year," says Carol, "will include Southeastern Contemporary, Outsider Insider: American Folk Art, Legends and Legacies, and Home and Hearth. Beside these large display at the Kelly Gallery, there will be pop-up galleries in local banks or businesses in the Elmore County area." All the details will have to be worked out, but information will be forthcoming.
