Finally Found a HOME!

We did it! Belyn Richardson, new President of The Kelly, has signed a lease to rent the old bank building downtown that is part of the Chamber of Commerce complex. "While it's not as big as we'd like, it is a beautiful space" she remarks. "We'll be there for a year while we continue to search for a permanent building of our own."

New curator Carol Hickman has already measured the space and is planning the hanging system. "It's bigger than it looks," she reports, "because it has such high (17 ft.) ceilings. There is more space in the corridor area and even upstairs." While the main exhibits will need to be on the first floor because of disability accessibility, The Kelly can use the empty rooms in the upper floors for office, storage, and workshop space.

"I love the huge windows," Carol adds. "I'm so excited that the Chamber has worked with us to provide this opportunity." While the actual first reception date is not set, the Board is hoping it might be in February. Stay tuned for more excitement to come soon!
